Sparkling apple juice recipe7/2/2023 ![]() ![]() Traditionally, sparkling cider is apple flavored. I’m not kidding when I say that there was cider dripping from the ceiling and glass in every direction! Variations My son was pretty little and loved to climb. When I saw him on the counter I yelled “no!” and started to run to him but his little hand shoved the bottles right over the edge. It’s kind of inviting disaster! A quick glass bottle sparkling cider horror story: A few years ago I had some bottles up on my counter to give to some neighbors. Plus, with lots of little kids running around, having a bunch of glass bottles isn’t really the best option. I love the kind you get from the store but we have a really large family! When we get together, there are a lot of us, so we’d need over a dozen glass bottles for everyone to have a glass or two. One of the main reasons I started making my own sparkling apple cider is because I wanted to save money. □ Why You Should Make Your Own Sparkling Cider The presentation is definitely important. I try to make it special by putting it in a plastic flute for them or a plastic wine glass. There’s no alcohol in this version-it’s literally a fancy apple juice! Our kids get so excited when they get to drink this. Making this sparkling cider is especially fun for me because everyone can enjoy it. Club Soda – Club soda is water that has been injected with CO2 or carbon dioxide, also called carbonation. You can also use other sweeteners like brown sugar, monk fruit, or stevia. ![]() Sugar (optional) – Most apple cider is plenty sweet, but if you want to sweeten it up a little, then add the sugar.Trader Joe’s has a delicious apple cider made with honeycrisp apples. Apple Cider – Use any apple cider you like, just make sure it isn’t carbonated apple juice. It is the perfect taste to compliment a fancy dinner! Ingredients in Sparkling Cider ![]() This version is every bit as good as the Martinelli’s Gold Medals bottled version, if not better! We make this one for special occasions, or even if we just feel fancy on a weekend sometimes. I love this DIY sparkling cider recipe because it’s super simple and you can make as much or as little as you need.

Anime pins bigot7/2/2023 ![]() Data creates a daughter and decides that it’s only logical to give this new form of life the opportunity to assign their own gender. The episodic structure of Star Trek: The Next Generation checks the boxes of the original show: Strange new worlds! New life! New civilizations! Lots of boldly going where no one has gone before! But it also moved forward in ways that make the show even truer to the spirit of Roddenberry’s shining post-scarcity future than the original, too. Stewart’s Picard tries to maintain a professional distance, is flustered by intimacy, but even he is a big ol’ softie underneath. ![]() Data’s matter-of-fact friendships with Worf and Geordi, Worf’s deadpan badassery, Riker so clearly rooting for everybody, are framed almost like gags, except the goal isn’t to get you to laugh at a joke but to smile at a pleasant little moment. Over the course of seven seasons, we watch as they develop interesting little dynamics to play off of one another, such that you can almost imagine how they would react in other scenarios. It doesn’t hurt that the crew of the Enterprise-D are just fun to hang out with. Yes, even Wil Wheaton’s Wesley deserves a mention, and especially worthy of a mention is Denise Crosby’s Tasha Yar, who got done absolutely dirty by pissy producers who killed her off early in the show. Gene Roddenberry, by all accounts a pretty well-liked guy who spent his life arguing for peace and inclusion, eventually sold some executives on the idea of kicking off a new series. For sewage applications, the fixture unit method is generally used. Ideally, the design flow will be provided by a contractor, engineer or regulating authority, though there are several methods for estimating flow. The max instantaneous flow that will be entering the pump’s basin needs to be determined so that a pump can be selected to efficiently maintain the system. Flow is generally measured in gallons per minute (gpm). ![]() In pump sizing, two factors are needed to select a pump: flow and pressure. The pump is running, but the water level is not moving. Then it happens: After finishing up an installation, the pump is tested to ensure a job well done … and nothing happens. Many installers have a go-to pump that has been used for decades without fail. ![]() This is the case even at 1440p, a higher resolution than its 1080p comfort zone. However, once it is enabled, this modest GPU can comfortably outspeed its closest low-budget rivals, while often keeping pace with more expensive fare. So, perhaps the Arc A750’s ReBAR preference means it’s not quite as for-the-masses as its new price would allow. Got an Core i7-8700K, or a Ryzen 2600X? The Arc A750 will still function, but not as effectively. There’s also the issue of reduced compatibility, as Resizeable BAR is only supported by Intel 10th Gen chips and newer, while Smart Access Memory needs at least a Ryzen 3000 CPU. Graphics cards have worked out of the box, driver updates aside, for ages – let’s not regress from that, pretty please. This isn’t too difficult, and your BIOS’ EZ mode may even include a simple toggle for it, but I’m wary of Intel setting a precedent where such deep dives into your PC become the norm. Chief of which: you still need to manually enable Resizable BAR (or Smart Access Memory, as it’s called on AMD CPU-based systems) to get its best performance. The world needs a better choice of lower-end cards, and the Arc A750 now has a better chance to deliver.Ī warning, though: while this GPU does impress in benchmarks, it hasn’t ditched those quirks. Yes, it’s satisfying to run Cyberpunk 2077 at maxed-out 4K on a DLSS 3-wielding RTX 4070 Ti, but that still costs the better part of a grand, and 1080p remains the most-used monitor resolution for gaming by far. ![]() Watch on YouTube Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition specs:Įspecially since this new pricing brings the Arc A750 Limited Edition further into a realm that Nvidia and AMD currently seem disinterested in: genuinely affordable, maybe even what you could call cheap graphics cards. More power for less money? I’d say that’s worth a fresh evaluation. The specific model we have here, the Arc A750 Limited Edition, has also had its price cut from £330 / $289 to £250 / $250. A series of driver updates, Intel claims, have improved average FPS performance by up to 87% since launch, with major gains in frame times (the time between each new rendered frame) as well. In 2023, however, Intel Arc may be on a redemption. ![]() Nothing awful, but nowhere near as special as they once seemed like they could be. ![]() Then they were repeatedly delayed, confirmed to possess some unwelcome technical quirks (like wanting Resizable BAR on at all times), and ultimately released with merely decent-ish performance. After years of it being easier to buy an original O’Keefe than a reasonably priced graphics card, the Arc series brought hope that it might actually be possible to get a decent PC upgrade for less than £500. Until recently, the story of Intel’s Arc GPUs has been a litany of mild disappointments. ![]()

Dont sleep cast7/2/2023 ![]() ![]() I don’t remember standing there.” Continuing to watch, she refers to herself as “I” but talks as if she was another person: “I’m freaking leaving the room. When Micah (Micah Sloat) makes Katie watch the footage of herself in the morning, she’s incredulous. She gets up in the middle of “Night #15,” stands by the bed, and then walks downstairs. But before Katie (Katie Featherstone) is possessed, she sleepwalks. Peli’s Paranormal Activity famously features a woman who becomes possessed by a demon after a string of strange occurrences in her and her boyfriend’s house. You can stream 1984’s Nightmare on Elm Street here: Notice how sleep becomes the dangerous agent in the tagline “Sleep Kills” He tells one of his subjects (who is speaking of the strange deaths of numerous Hmong immigrants in their sleep in the late 1970s and 1980s) that Craven read an article about these strange deaths and that they “helped inspire ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ and Freddy Krueger, which,” he continued, “went on to create a weird feedback loop inspiring other people’s nightmares and sleep paralysis experiences.” Later on, the documentary raises Nightmare on Elm Street again with a rare interjection by the man behind the camera. In Rodney Ascher’s documentary about this disorder, The Nightmare (2015), one of his subjects tells of watching Wes Craven’s Nightmare on Elm Street one day and immediately realizing that the film rendered nearly perfectly her experience of sleep paralysis. Wes Craven’s well-known 80s horror film can be read as a literal rendering of the horrors of sleep paralysis. You can stream Don Siegel’s classic 1956 Invasion of the Body Snatchers here:Ī Nightmare on Elm Street (Wes Craven, 1984) But Invasion also represented quite dramatically how we become someone (something) other than our conscious self-how we literally become an alien being-when we sleep. As it often is, sleep was a metaphor in this case, alerting Americans to the possibility of being taken over by Communists or by the force of American conformity in the post-war years. Invasion of the Body Snatchers warns that to fall asleep is to risk being taken over by an alien being, robbed of all human emotion and individuality. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Don Siegel, 1956)īecky (Dana Wynter) after she falls asleep and becomes an “inhuman monster”īefore sleep became the subject of professionalized medicine in the US, and before it became such a hot topic of horror in the 21 st century, it nonetheless was dangerous terrain. The body that acts becomes something other than the person it appears to be it generates uncanny doubles and evokes the profoundly uncanny uncertainty as to whether, as philosopher Dylan Trigg puts it, “‘I’ am truly identifiable with my body itself.” Horror films in the twenty-first century in particular have turned to sleep to exploit its inherently uncanny nature and the way it suggests that we are not always in control of who we are and what we do. To walk or talk while sleeping, moreover, is to act in ways divorced from the world of light and reason, to act without volition and the consent of the mind. Indeed, the Western way of sleeping has been described as a “lie down and die” model. ![]() This realm is not only profoundly opposed to the contemporary illuminated world, but it has always lain uncomfortably close to death. To sleep is to slip into a realm of darkness, irrationality, and the supernatural. Sleep is becoming one of the crisis points of late modernity, as the steady encroachment of the “24/7” plugged-in world only intensifies sleep’s already uncanny nature. ![]() |
